THE METHOD

Know what goes into the number.

Each pour is calculated separately, then added together. Your waste percentage applies to the combined volume.

01

Measure the shape

For a slab, multiply length × width × thickness. For a round column, use π × radius² × height.

02

Allow for waste

The order amount is exact volume × (1 + waste percentage). You can change the default 10% allowance.

03

Choose how to buy

Compare bagged mix with ready-mix material cost using your own local prices. Delivery, labor and minimum order fees remain separate.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Before you place an order

How many 80 lb bags make one cubic yard?

At a typical yield of 0.60 cubic feet per bag, one cubic yard needs 45 bags. Always check the actual yield printed on your chosen mix.

How much concrete do I need for a 10 × 10 ft slab, 4 in thick?

The exact volume is 33.33 cubic feet, or 1.23 cubic yards. With 10% extra, plan for about 1.36 cubic yards or 62 bags of 80 lb mix.

Should I round up the ready-mix order?

The calculator includes your chosen waste allowance. Ask your supplier about minimum loads and delivery increments before you finalize the order.

Does this include labor, reinforcement or delivery?

No. The optional cost field multiplies order volume by your entered material price. Labor, rebar, pump fees, taxes and delivery are separate.
