Concrete Cost per Square Foot Calculator
Turn a volume quote into an area-based material estimate. Enter a real supplier price and any known delivery or short-load fees.
Use the price and fees from your local supplier quote. No live price data is used.
How the calculation works
Cubic yards = square feet × (thickness in inches ÷ 12) ÷ 27. Apply the extra percentage, then multiply by your ready-mix price per yd³. Add entered fixed fees and divide by area for estimated dollars per square foot.
Worked example
A 200 ft² slab at 4 in contains 2.47 yd³. With 10% extra, the order estimate is 2.72 yd³. At $180/yd³ plus $150 in fixed fees, the material-and-fee estimate is about $639, or $3.19/ft².
Before you order
This is not a contractor bid. Excavation, base, forms, reinforcement, labor, finishing, taxes, pump fees and supplier rounding may change the final cost.
Review the calculation method and source notes, then use the supplier checklist before placing an order.
Using an area-based quote
This tool turns a slab area and thickness into material volume, then divides entered material and fixed fees by finished square feet. It can help compare two quotes expressed in different units, but only if their scopes match. A quote including excavation and finishing cannot be compared fairly with material-only pricing.
Check whether a contractor quote already includes delivery or a small-load charge before entering that fee again. The full cost calculator separates delivery, pumping, labor and tax when you have those quote lines.
Questions before you order
Is cost per square foot a market price?
No. It is a calculated result from the prices you enter.
Does it include labor?
Only if you include labor in the fixed-fee input. Read the label and compare the same scope across quotes.
What if thickness changes across the slab?
Split the project into areas of different thickness and calculate each separately.
